You Know One When You See One
It’s interesting how eventually, all thoughts lead to the beauty of Christ in us. Today, I was thinking of the controversies of our present time, and how it seems that people fight over every single thing. They rant and argue about politics. Do black lives matter or do all lives matter? Do we wear masks or not? And of course, people argue about religious dogma.
Religious dogma. Have you noticed that the most vociferous disagreements among Christians are usually about things that don’t have any real effect on our soul’s condition? They are often things that can not be proven one way or the other. They are opinions. They are peripheral.
Someone once said, “At the heart of the human condition, is the condition of the human heart.”This falls totally in line with the ministry of Christ to us. Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted.
Christ in us fills the heart with healing love. When that Spirit of God in us has done His work, pain leaves our heart. We are no longer bitter. Fear is gone. We lose the need to control others. Peace floods our soul. Joy won’t go away. Patience becomes automatic. Selfishness is no longer necessary. We become a showcase of God’s glory and a trophy of His grace. We are truly a peculiar people, living perfectly loved and giving that same Love. Healed hearts are a beautiful sight. You know one when you see one.
