Man’s Efforts vs. God’s Truth

You have immense value to your Creator. You are seen. Your Father has never stopped looking for ways to convince you of Truth: the truth of who you are; the truth of who He is; the truth of what was accomplished on the cross so that you could live in true freedom.

The Bible tells us that God is love [1 John 4:8] and that there is no fear in love [1 John 4:18]. God doesn’t use coercion or control to teach us truth because that’s not who He is.

Man’s best efforts at successful living have focused on helping us to do good and avoid evil. This is why we have self-help books, Instagram influencers, life coaches, political rivals, various religions… everyone has a different suggestion on how best to accomplish good and avoid evil in this life.

God had a different sort of life in mind for us. It was eternal life, the Kingdom of God life. Life that enables you to live with unspeakable joy, a peace that surpasses understanding, and a love that goes beyond knowledge. This is the life Jesus’ work on the cross accomplished for us. If you have placed your full weight on Jesus’ finished work at the cross then you are a believer and this life has already been unveiled within you. Old ways of thinking, fleshly thoughts/imaginations, lies, natural inclinations that have built up over the years can blind us from fully seeing what we have received. Humility can help us open our hearts to a new way of seeing what we have been given; to let go of what was comfortable but no longer needed.

In Matthew 13:16 Jesus says to His disciples: “But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.”

Grace sometimes seems to defy our logical human thinking. It isn’t fair. It isn’t what we’re used to. It doesn’t always make the things we want to happen, happen. It can’t guarantee carnal outcomes. But the way of the Spirit is the most efficient and effective way to live. It is the way God designed us to live from the very beginning.

May you be blessed as you experience more and more of that graceful way to live, led by the Spirit into all the abundance of this Kingdom of God-life.
