Intimacy With the Father

When Judi and I were getting to know each other, we had fun revealing everything about ourselves. Judi would ask me all kinds of questions and I was happy to answer them because I wanted her to know me. She later said that most guys try to present themselves in the best light possible, but she liked that I didn’t do that. To which I replied, “Well, I wanted you to know the real me, even my weaknesses.” 

Intimacy comes from sharing details about yourself. I have found that God is Someone who wants very much to reveal Himself to each of us. That’s one reason that Christ came to earth. It’s also the reason He came to live inside us. If you love someone, you want them to know you. He loves us. He did everything necessary so we could know Him as well as He knows us. I found that if we talk to God and ask Him things, He will show us. He’ll tell us what He thinks, what motivates Him, why He can love the way that He does. 

Friend, I want you to know that not only is it possible to know this Person we call God, but it’s really the very plan of God. And you can daily expect Him to tell you more and more from His heart. As He does this, we find ourselves taking on that same heart, thinking His thoughts, seeing with His eyes, and loving people the way God so loves the world. 

It’s going to get more beautiful and more powerful as time goes on. This excites me and gives me great hope. Have a great day! We believe in you.
