Image of Love

John 1:19 “No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.”

If I asked you to draw the face of God, what would it look like? Many artists have depicted God in very similar ways, thick gray hair, thick gray beard, and a face that is angry, or at least, stern.

The artists probably had that type of image in mind, because of some of the words and descriptions used in the Old Testament; but let’s remember, Jesus is the TRUE revelation of God. If anyone wants to see the Father, just look at Jesus.

In Jesus, we see his teachings about a Father who loves us. He wanted so badly to be with us, that He joined us in our neighborhood. He joined us in our sin and in our death, so He could be with us always in the joy of His Life.

If your image of God is someone who is stern, critical, and somewhat aloof; you have permission from the TRUE God to throw that image away. Forget it!!
