Castration, Incineration and Mauling

The apostle Paul angrily wished some troublemakers would castrate themselves.  Disciples James and John wanted to burn some Samaritans with fire for rejecting them.  The prophet Elisha caused some boys to be killed by a bear because the boys had made fun of the thin-skinned, vindictive prophet.

Let’s don’t do stuff like that.  Let’s live gracefully.

Graceful living is a term Judi and I like to use for Spirit-led living.  We all want to live Spirit-led, right?  But how do we know how the Holy Spirit is leading us in our daily situations?

Here’s what I’ve found to be absolutely true.  The Spirit of God is beautiful and graceful.  Spirit thoughts are always higher than normal human thoughts.  They are just excellent.  They make you excited to give and to yield, rather than fight for what’s “fair”.  You feel the beauty of joy, peace, and Love, rather than feelings of oppression.  Somehow, God’s ways cause you to navigate the chaos of life as if you were a graceful dancer, rather than a mud wrestler.

I absolutely love learning the art of graceful living, listening for that gracious voice of peace, and acting on it with a sense of beautiful adventure.

“’My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the LORD. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.'” – Isaiah 55:8 NLT

“But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.” – 1 Corinthians 2:10 NLT

Enjoy the growth as we learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
