Like Cream In Your Coffee

When you put cream in your coffee, it all becomes one.  It literally becomes a different drink, because of the union of the ingredients.  Once they are mingled together, you cannot take it back.  You cannot make it black coffee again.

Christ in us has made us a new creation. He is united with us, and this is what has given us a Christ-heart.  He WITH us gives us a different flavor.  We’re sweeter and smoother, giving the aromas of Love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, etc.  We wake up daily celebrating our wonderful union with Him.

“Because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” – Ephesians 2:4-6

The word “together” is used three times in the above verse.  It doesn’t mean near, or alongside.  It means oneness.  You can have cream NEAR your coffee, or you can have it become ONE with your coffee.  This is how God has made us in Christ.  This is the secret that nobody could figure out until Jesus came.  It’s the mystery of Christ in you!  When we can see the oneness we have with Him, we can begin to BE who He is to our world around us.

The Bible says that we once were alienated in our minds because of wicked works, but now are reconciled, which means “to set at one”.  We are united with God, reunited and it feels so good.
